The honest answer to wedding in Turkey cost is a range, and a wide one: from roughly €20-45 a guest for a hotel dinner priced for the local market, to €500 and more a guest for an internationally hosted wedding with full production. Couples planning from the UK, India or the Gulf usually sit between the two, and the quotes they collect can differ fivefold for what looks like the same day.

This guide explains why, then goes line by line through dinners, venues, suppliers, planners and registry fees in Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum and Cappadocia, and how season, weekday and currency move the total. For overall budget bands and the planning sequence, see our destination wedding guide.

Last updated: September 2026. Figures are indicative 2026 prices, mostly in euros (Istanbul's dollar figures are from 2025). Lira prices are converted at €1 = 56.2 TL (14 September 2026) and will drift.

1. Wedding in Turkey cost: the short answer, and why quotes differ fivefold

Search for wedding prices in Turkey and you meet three very different numbers, because three markets use the same words.

The local market. Turkish families book wedding halls, hotel ballrooms and Bosphorus boats priced per person in lira. In 2026 listings, a seated hotel wedding dinner in Istanbul runs about 1,100-2,500 TL a guest, roughly €20-45. These are efficient evenings built for large guest lists, with set menus, fixed timings and little room to change the format. Headlines about couples spending 1.8 million lira describe this market, engagement and new home included.

Packaged destination weddings. Planners selling to foreign couples publish fixed packages: ceremony set-up, officiant, a menu chosen from a list, a photographer for set hours. Published 2026 comparison tables put a destination wedding in Turkey at €5,000-26,000, with all-inclusive beach packages from about €5,000. You choose from what the package contains, and anything outside it is an extra.

Fully produced weddings. Everything is designed around your guest list: the venue build, lighting and sound, floral volume, a second day, guest logistics. This is the level our destination wedding guide describes, at about €18,000-40,000 for 25 to 50 guests and €45,000-95,000 for 80 to 120 guests over a single day.

Which of the three numbers is yours

The same 80 guests in Bodrum can be priced in all three. What decides it is three questions: are most guests flying in, do you want the evening designed rather than selected, and is it outdoors after dark? Three yeses put you in the third market, whatever the first quote said. This guide prices the second and third.

2. Cost by region: Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum and Cappadocia side by side

Each region hides its extra cost in a different place. Figures are 2026 prices published for international weddings, except Istanbul's dollar figures, which are from 2025.

Bodrum's figures come from a single 2026 planning guide, so read them as indicative.

Antalya and Bodrum wedding costs

Antalya gives large guest lists the most for the money, because resorts are built for volume and price their menus in clear tiers. Bodrum's catering, about €220-350 a head, runs higher than Antalya's resort menus. A summer 2026 day at its best-known beach clubs ran €120-300 a person, some with a minimum spend. Our beach wedding guide covers what a ceremony on sand adds.

Istanbul and Cappadocia wedding costs

Istanbul's premium is the venue itself, a yalı or palace hotel on the water. Cappadocia works the other way: the cost is getting everyone there and housing them. Cave-hotel rooms ran about €100-300 a night at mid-range properties in 2026 and €300-800 at the best-known ones, and a standard balloon flight costs about €130-250 a person.

3. Venue and catering: the per-guest number that decides the budget

Food and drink is the largest line in a Turkish wedding budget: 35-45% of a fully produced wedding, in our destination wedding guide's split. Get the per-guest figure right and the rest follows.

Per-guest menus by tier

Published 2026 rates for the Antalya coast fall into three clear tiers: about €50-75 a guest for a budget menu, €80-130 for mid-range and €150-250 for luxury. Istanbul runs higher at the top. Mid-market venues were quoting around $50-100 a guest in 2025 and premium venues $100-300, while 2026 projections for weddings at the city's luxury yalıs, the historic waterfront mansions, start at about €250 a guest and reach €750.

A useful cross-check: at €500-800 a guest overall, food and beverage at 35-45% means roughly €175-360 a guest. A menu quoted well below that range can mean drinks, service staff or late-night food are priced separately.

Venue hire and minimum spend

Hotels selling a per-person package often charge little or no hire, but set a minimum guest count or a minimum spend instead. Venues without their own catering charge hire. On the Antalya coast, 2026 hire fees run about €2,000-8,000. In Istanbul, 2025 figures put boutique and garden venues at $5,000-15,000, five-star hotel spaces at $15,000-40,000 and historic palace venues at $10,000-30,000.

The hire fee rarely sinks a budget: our guide to wedding venues in Istanbul puts it at usually under a third of the total. The bigger risk is an empty estate or industrial hall, with its own bill for power, flooring, kitchens and toilets.

Bosphorus boat charters

Boats are priced two ways. Local-market boats sell a set evening per head, about 1,000-3,000 TL a guest with dinner in 2026 (€18-53). Private charters are priced by vessel and hour: luxury yachts for up to 20 guests list at about €900-1,500 for two hours before food, and larger vessels are quoted individually. Our Istanbul venue guide puts a full private evening with catering at roughly €120-300 a guest, because you take over the vessel, the caterer and the route.

4. Photography, flowers, music and production: supplier price ranges

Published supplier rates

Published 2026 rates for Antalya suppliers who work with international couples make a good reference point:

SupplierTypical 2026 rangeWhat moves the price
Photography (6-12 hours)€1,200-2,800Hours, second shooter, album
Videography€1,500-3,500Film length, drone, same-day edit
Flowers and decor€800-5,000Floral volume, ceremony arch, table count
Bridal hair and make-up€200-450Trial session, second look
DJ (4-6 hours) or live musicians€400-1,200 or €500-1,500Equipment, ensemble size, hours

In Istanbul, photographers on local booking platforms list anywhere from 4,000 to 40,000 TL (€71-712). That range spans an hour of portraits to full-day coverage, so compare hours and edited images, not the headline price.

Production: the line packages leave out

Stage, lighting, sound and power take 12-18% of a fully produced wedding: €7,200-10,800 on a €60,000 budget. Most packages leave this line out, yet it decides whether an outdoor evening looks designed after sunset or simply goes dark. An open-air build needs generator power, structures rated for the evening wind and a wet-weather cover that is booked, not promised, a cost our destination wedding guide flags as a surprise. Our luxury wedding and gala management team plans it from the first site visit.

5. Planner fees: percentage or flat, and what the fee buys

Planning and coordination takes 8-12% of a fully produced wedding in our destination wedding guide's split: roughly €4,800-7,200 on a €60,000 budget. How it is charged varies more than the amount.

Three ways planners charge

  • A share of the budget. Common for full planning. Ask whether it is capped, because it grows with every upgrade.
  • A fixed fee. Clear from the start and the easiest to compare between planners.
  • Built into a package. Typical in the packaged market, which is why packages look cheaper and why changes cost extra.

What the fee should buy

Supplier contracts in one currency, venue checks on noise curfews and power confirmed in writing, and one person accountable on the day. A fee that buys less than that is an introduction service.

The legal marriage is the smallest line in the budget, but it is priced by district, day and nationality. The procedure is set out in the legal section of our destination wedding guide; these are the 2026 fees.

Registry fees

The Üsküdar municipality in Istanbul publishes one clear example. Couples living outside the district pay 3,000 TL (about €53) for a weekday ceremony in its marriage hall and 8,000 TL (€142) at the weekend; any ceremony at a venue on the European side costs 13,000 TL (€231), and a foreign-national supplement adds 12,000 TL (€214). The international family booklet adds a fixed 1,202 TL (€21). Other districts set their own supplements: Kadıköy's is 30,000 TL (€534).

Documents and the packaged alternative

Sworn translations run about 800-1,500 TL a document (€14-27), notarisation about 1,770 TL a page (€31), and the pre-marriage health report is free at state hospitals or 700-1,000 TL (€12-18) at private clinics. Home-country documents and apostilles come on top. Planners' civil ceremony packages, which handle all of this with an interpreter and transfers, are published at about €3,100-4,500 plus VAT.

7. Season, day and currency: when the same wedding costs less

High season and shoulder season

One Antalya planner's 2026 price guide puts peak season, June to September, at 20-30% above the shoulder months of April, May and October. The shoulder months need not cost you the weather: our destination wedding guide rates mid-May to June and September to mid-October as ideal across the country, so an early-October date gets peak-season weather at shoulder prices.

Saturdays, weekdays and religious holidays

The same guide prices Saturdays at 15-25% above Thursdays and Fridays. Religious holidays tighten domestic flights, hotels and staff rather than menus. In 2027, Eid al-Fitr (Ramazan Bayramı) falls on 9-11 March and Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bayramı) on 16-19 May, so a mid-May date next year may fall on Eid al-Adha itself.

Lira, euro and VAT

Suppliers who work with foreign couples mostly quote in euros for a reason: Turkish inflation was still above 30% a year in spring 2026, so a lira quote from January may not survive to June. Agree which currency each contract is in and whether the price is fixed; our destination wedding guide calls this the clause that has cost couples most.

Then ask of every quote: is VAT included? Turkish VAT (KDV) runs at up to 20% depending on the service, and some packages state prices "+ VAT" in small print. On a €60,000 wedding, that can leave a budget short by up to a fifth.

8. Three sample budgets, line by line

Illustrative budgets

The three budgets below show how a wedding cost in Turkey builds up. They are illustrations, not quotes, built from the per-guest rates above and our destination wedding guide's budget shares, and each lands inside that guide's bands. All exclude flights, guest accommodation, attire and legal fees.

How to read them

Read across the rows. Istanbul spends the most on a single dinner, €260 a head, because a waterfront venue sells dinner and setting together. Bodrum and Antalya carry bigger production lines, since open-air evenings need lighting and sound built for the night. Antalya's food line splits into an €85 welcome dinner and a €190 wedding dinner, which is what a second day really costs. In the Bodrum and Antalya columns, flowers and music exceed the section 4 supplier rates because these are larger, fully produced budgets. For a three- or four-day Indian programme, see our Indian wedding in Turkey guide.

9. Keeping the cost down without it showing

A cheap wedding in Turkey is possible, and the savings that work are the ones guests never notice.

Where the savings are

  • Cut the guest list before anything else. Every guest carries a dinner, a chair, a transfer seat and usually a room night. Ten fewer guests at a €240 dinner saves €2,400 before the transfers and room nights are counted.
  • Move the date, not the standard. A Friday in late May or early October buys the same venue and weather for less than a Saturday in June or September.
  • Choose a venue that already has what you need. A hotel terrace with kitchens, power and a covered fallback costs less to run than an empty plot that needs all three brought in.
  • Hold fewer functions, well. A welcome drink at the hotel bar instead of a second seated dinner can take a tenth off a two-day budget.
  • Marry legally at home and hold the celebration in Turkey, which removes translations, appointments and a registry fee from the Turkish side.

What not to cut

The production line for an outdoor evening and the coordination fee: guests never see either on the invoice, but notice at once when one is missing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a wedding in Antalya cost?+

Published 2026 rates put resort menus on the Antalya coast at about €50-75 a guest for a budget menu, €80-130 for mid-range and €150-250 for luxury, with venue hire around €2,000-8,000. A fully produced two-day wedding for 160 guests works out at about €118,500 in our illustrative budget, excluding flights and rooms.

How much does a wedding in Bodrum cost?+

Bodrum's catering prices run higher than Antalya's resort menus. A 2026 planning guide puts catering at about €220-350 a guest, with small villas from about €1,300 to hire and premium venues from €30,000. Our illustrative one-day budget for 100 guests with full production comes to about €66,000, excluding flights and accommodation.

How much does a civil wedding ceremony in Turkey cost for foreigners?+

The registry fees are modest but vary by district. Istanbul's Üsküdar municipality charges couples from outside the district 3,000-8,000 TL for a hall ceremony, plus a 12,000 TL foreign-national supplement and a 1,202 TL family booklet. Translations, notarisation and a health report add several thousand lira more; planners' packaged civil ceremonies cost about €3,100-4,500 plus VAT.

Do wedding quotes in Turkey include VAT?+

Not always. Turkish VAT (KDV) runs at up to 20% depending on the service, and some published wedding packages state their prices plus VAT in small print. Ask every supplier whether the quote is VAT-inclusive and which currency the contract is in, because on a €60,000 wedding VAT alone can leave a budget short by up to a fifth.

Can you have a cheap wedding in Turkey?+

Yes. Packaged destination weddings start at about €5,000, and hotel dinners priced for the local market cost around €20-45 a guest in Istanbul. The savings that hold up are a shorter guest list, a Friday date in the shoulder months, a venue with its own kitchens and power, and marrying legally at home.
