Luxury hotel weddings in Istanbul centre on a short list of five-star hotels, most of them on the Bosphorus, from Karaköy to Kuruçeşme. This guide covers nine. The largest can seat about 1,000 guests, the smallest about 200, and two of them, Çırağan Palace Kempinski and Four Seasons at the Bosphorus, can seat 900 or more outdoors by the water. None of them publishes a wedding price: every package is quoted on request, usually per guest, with a minimum guest count or spend.
This guide sets out what each hotel publishes about its wedding spaces, how the per-guest price is built and what a hotel will not do for you. We do not rank the hotels, for the reason given in our guide to wedding venues in Istanbul: the team running your week matters more than the name on the building. For the legal steps and regions, start with our destination wedding guide.
Last updated: October 2026. Capacities are as published by each hotel or its press office, checked in October 2026.

1. Luxury hotel weddings in Istanbul: the short answer
A hotel wedding trades some freedom for certainty. That trade suits most couples planning from abroad.
What a hotel solves
One contract covers the kitchen, the service staff, the guest rooms, the parking and a room to move into if it rains. A private yalı or an empty estate needs all of those brought in. For a guest list that flies in from three countries, that single point of responsibility is the main reason to choose a hotel.
Three settings
- On the water. Çırağan, Four Seasons at the Bosphorus, Mandarin Oriental and The Peninsula all describe their properties as waterfront, with terraces or gardens on the shore.
- Above the water. Shangri-La advertises Bosphorus views and The Ritz-Carlton a roof with views, both with ballrooms rather than shoreline lawns. Swissôtel holds its weddings in its Sultanpark venues.
- In the city. Raffles sits in the Zorlu Center and Four Seasons Sultanahmet in the old city, facing Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.
What it costs, in one paragraph
No hotel publishes a wedding price. Our guide to wedding costs in Turkey puts premium Istanbul venues at $100-300 a guest in 2025, and notes that hotels selling a per-person package often charge little or no hire but set a minimum guest count or spend. Section 7 explains how to read a quote.
2. The hotels at a glance: spaces and published capacities
The figures
"Seated" means a banquet at round tables, before a stage or dance floor takes its share of the room.
| Hotel | Setting | Largest wedding space | Seated | Outdoor option |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus | Waterfront, a former 19th-century Ottoman palace | Ballroom, 1,030 m² | 1,000 | Waterfront wedding garden, outdoor banquet for 1,000 |
| Çırağan Palace Kempinski | Waterfront | Palace Terrace, 1,693 m² | 900 | The terrace itself; also a pier lounge and a garden |
| Raffles Istanbul | Zorlu Center | Raffles Ballroom | about 800 | Not published |
| Shangri-La Bosphorus | Beşiktaş, in a 1930s building | Shangri-La Ballroom, 850 m² | 700 | Not published |
| Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus | Waterfront, Kuruçeşme | Bosphorus Ballroom | 600 | Bosphorus Garden, 1,670 m² |
| The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul | Set along the Bosphorus | Ballroom, 695 m² | 450 | Not published |
| The Peninsula Istanbul | Waterfront, Karaköy | Yalı Ballroom | 470 | Terrace and gardens; 930 with the terrace |
| Swissôtel The Bosphorus | Sultanpark | Fuji Ballroom, 1,062 m² | Not published | Not published |
| Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet | Old city | Sedef Ballroom, 277 m² | 200 | Outdoor banquet for 100 |
How to read them
Choose a room with at least 20% more capacity than your guest list, as our gala dinner guide advises: the stage, the band and the dance floor all come out of the seated figure. Above 700 seated guests the list is five spaces: the Four Seasons ballroom and its waterfront garden, Çırağan's terrace and ballroom, and the Raffles Ballroom. Multi-day weddings of 250-400 guests, such as those in our Indian wedding guide, need a second and third room for the mehndi and the sangeet, so check the smaller rooms as carefully as the ballroom.
3. Çırağan Palace Kempinski: a palace wedding on the water
Kempinski publishes the size and capacity of each of its six wedding spaces.
The terrace, the ballroom and the pier
The Palace Terrace, by the Bosphorus, covers 1,693 m² and takes 2,000 guests for a reception or 900 seated. The Çırağan Ballroom covers 956 m² and seats 740, or 956 for a reception. The Bosphorus Pier Lounge, 400 m² on the water, seats 220. The Secret Garden takes 300 for a reception.
Small rooms in the palace section
Two rooms suit a ceremony, a family dinner or a henna night: Ottoman, 76 m² in the palace section, and Kaftan, 91 m² on its first floor, each seating 50. A wedding weekend can run from a small dinner on the first night to the terrace on the second without leaving the hotel.
What a Çırağan wedding costs
Çırağan does not publish a wedding price; its page asks for a request for proposal. The nearest public figure is its New Year's Eve gala: 23,000 TL a person for the night into 2026 with live music, about €409, as our gala guide records. A public gala night is not a private wedding quote, but it shows where the hotel prices a dinner with entertainment.
4. Four Seasons: the Bosphorus and Sultanahmet
Four Seasons runs two very different Istanbul hotels, and both host weddings.
Four Seasons at the Bosphorus
The hotel's press facts describe a former 19th-century Ottoman palace known as Atik Pasha, built near the Sultan's summer palace and opened as a Four Seasons in 2008. Its largest ballroom covers 1,030 m² and seats 1,000. It also lists a wedding garden on the waterfront, with an outdoor banquet capacity of 1,000, the largest outdoor seated figure any hotel here publishes. A seated dinner for several hundred guests on the shore is what sets it apart.
Four Seasons at Sultanahmet
The Sultanahmet hotel was built as a prison in 1918-1919, became a Four Seasons in 1996 and reopened in 2022 after renovation. It faces Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Sea of Marmara. The Sedef Ballroom covers 277 m² and seats 200, with outdoor banquets for up to 100. This is the choice for a smaller wedding that wants the old city in the photographs, not the Bosphorus.
5. Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-La and The Peninsula
Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus
On the waterfront in Kuruçeşme, the hotel has three ballrooms, an events space and a terrace. The Bosphorus Ballroom seats 600 and holds 200 more for cocktails, henna nights or an after-party. An article on the hotel's own site describes a package with day use of the 321 m² Naile Sultan suite and a night there for the couple; the suite opens by a marble staircase onto the 1,670 m² Bosphorus Garden event area. The article dates from 2023, so ask whether the package still applies.
Shangri-La Bosphorus
Shangri-La sits in a 1930s building in Beşiktaş, a short walk from Dolmabahçe Palace. The Shangri-La Ballroom covers 850 m² with a 5.3 m ceiling and seats 700; its wedding page speaks of up to 650 guests. The smaller Bosphorus Ballroom seats 200 under a 2.9 m ceiling. Its wedding page lists two preparation rooms for the families, a "Wedding Fairy" assistant and a Rolls-Royce Ghost for five hours on the day.
The Peninsula Istanbul
The Peninsula's waterfront property in Karaköy has landscaped gardens. Its Yalı Ballroom seats 470 or takes 750 for cocktails, and with its terrace up to 930, seated or standing. Two smaller rooms take 65 guests each.
6. The Ritz-Carlton, Raffles and Swissôtel
The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul
The Ritz-Carlton describes itself as set along the Bosphorus. Its largest room takes 650 guests, and our gala guide gives the ballroom as 695 m², seating 450. For weddings the hotel names The Grand Hall, the Roof with its views and a Bosphorus Suite for the couple. It publishes its wedding benefits, which apply from 150 guests: a suite for the couple, two day-use rooms for the families, a menu tasting for up to three people, a coordination meeting, and a first-anniversary stay with dinner at its Atölye restaurant. Its kitchen also caters outside venues for up to 800.
Raffles Istanbul
Raffles is part of the Zorlu Center. The Raffles Ballroom takes 1,000 for a reception or about 800 seated, and can be divided. Raffles is the most detailed about its package: a welcome cocktail with canapés, a four-course menu, a wedding cake, unlimited local drinks, a private ballroom entrance, a bridal suite, a Wedding Butler and honeymoon accommodation. It too caters weddings outside the hotel.
Swissôtel The Bosphorus
Swissôtel holds weddings in the Fuji Ballroom and Asuka Hall, both in its Sultanpark, and its wedding page publishes no capacity. Our gala guide gives the Fuji Ballroom as 1,062 m² with a 6.8 m ceiling and 1,600 theatre-style, so ask the hotel for its seated wedding figure.
7. What the per-guest price includes, and what it leaves out
What a package usually covers
Read together, the published packages cover the same core: a welcome cocktail, a set menu, the cake, drinks, the ballroom, a suite for the couple and rooms for the families to get ready. What changes between hotels is the drinks list, the number of courses and whether a night or an anniversary stay is included.
Minimum spend and hire
Our cost guide puts five-star hotel spaces at $15,000-40,000 to hire in 2025, but a hotel selling a per-guest package often waives the hire and sets a minimum instead. A minimum guest count protects the hotel if your list shrinks, so ask what happens to the price per guest if you fall below it.
Five questions before you sign
- Are VAT and service included in the per-guest price? Get the answer in writing.
- Which drinks are "local", and for how many hours? An unlimited local package is not the same as an open bar with imported spirits.
- When must amplified music stop? Near housing on the Bosphorus it is often between 23:00 and midnight, our gala guide notes. Ask whether an after-party can move indoors.
- Which outside suppliers are allowed, and at what fee? Florists, bands and production crews may pay a supplier or power fee.
- What is the cut-off date on the room block? Ask the date after which unbooked rooms go back on general sale.
8. What a hotel will not do for you
A hotel sells a room, a kitchen and service. Almost everything your guests will remember about the look of the evening comes from outside.
The ceiling decides the design
A ballroom's height limits what can hang from it. Truss rigging needs at least 4-5 metres, says our gala guide. Shangri-La's main ballroom, at 5.3 m, can take it; its 2.9 m Bosphorus Ballroom cannot, so lighting there stands on the floor. Ask every hotel for ceiling height and rigging points before you approve a design.

Décor, stage and light are your supplier's
Stage, light, sound, florals and installations come from your planner or production company, working to the hotel's rules on load-in times and power. The installation above was built that way, for İş Bankası's 100th anniversary in a heritage venue. So were the décor and the lit photo wall below, for Tüpraş's new-year celebration, where the production also covered the branded bars, the service points and the guest flow through the venue.

Guests outside the hotel
The hotel looks after the guests who stay with it. Guests in other hotels, airport arrivals and the late transport home need their own plan. Our hotel accommodation service books room blocks across price levels, and VIP transfer and logistics moves guests between them.
Planning a Luxury Hotel Wedding in Istanbul
The hotels above publish their rooms; the rest of the wedding is built around them. Our luxury wedding and gala management team produces weddings in Istanbul's hotels and historic venues, with the same crews that build stages for international brands. See how we approach a wedding on our weddings page, or contact us with your date, guest count and the hotels on your list, and we will tell you which rooms fit.
